Clone system disk RAID 0 - HP Smart Array 641
Hi,
I have this configuration:
-Proliant ML370 G3 Server with Smart Array 641.
-One 36GB system disk (win 2003 SBS) RAID 0.
-4 72GB data disk in 2 arrays RAID 1+0.
System predicts 36GB disk failure and I want clone it and subtitute.
I plugged another 36GB disk and create new array. Then, with Acronis I have clone disk.
But when I remove original system disk I can't configure system to start form new array.
What is the correct procedure to clone disk and change disk that is about to fail?
Thanks.

Re: Clone system disk RAID 0 - HP Smart Array 641
SmartArrays always boot from Array A, if you create a new array and copy data to it, it will not be bootable.
What you could do is add a second disk to array A and convert the logical drive to RAID 1, all the data will be copied to the new disk and you can use either of them to boot.

Re: Clone system disk RAID 0 - HP Smart Array 641
Not boot disk!
Muchas gracias
