Compaq ML370t01 cpu addition

I have a ML370t01 server with one P3 800MHz cpu and wish to put another processor in to speed it up. What processor speeds can I put in?
What are the part numbers?
Where can I get them?

Re: Compaq ML370t01 cpu addition

If you are going to just add another processor to this box, then order:
800/133 Processor w/Heatsink
part number: 187781-001 aprox price: $651.00
and
Processor Power Module
part number: 157825-001 aprox price: $23.00

If you are going to upgrade the original processor as well as add another, then I believe you can go up to the 933Mhz without having to change the main board.

You can order the parts direct from Compaq via:
http://sparesstore.compaq.com/sparesstore/default.asp

Good luck and happy holidays!

Enjoy!

Re: Compaq ML370t01 cpu addition

Follow on question:

There are two spareparts for an additional processor.

The original proc. spare part and the optional proc. kit.

for example:

Pentium III P800-256K Processor Option Kit
Note: This processor option kit (PN 161084-B21) supports the ProLiant ML370, ProLiant DL380, and ProLiant ML350 (1st generation) servers.

161084-B21

and

187781-001 Intel Pentium III processor - 800MHz (Coppermine, 133MHz front side bus, 256KB Level-2 cache, SECC-2) - Includes heat sink

Can I use both as an additional processor in the ML370?

In my situation, I have 2nd ML370 and I would like to use its processor as the 2nd processor in my main ML370.

Thanks,

Klaus
