Compaq ML570 Windows 2000 Advanced Server 8GB Mem Limit
Recently upgraded our ML570's to 6GB, they are using 2000 advanced server, so should take up to 8GB, but looking at the Windows memory amount it's still only reporting 4GB? It it really using th 6GB? I've tried to apply the /3GB & /PAE switchs in the boot.ini but doesn't seem to make much difference? Is there anything in the hardware/firmware that stopping to 6GB being seen?

Re: Compaq ML570 Windows 2000 Advanced Server 8GB Mem Limit
If you read ( http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;255600 ) you should only have to apply the /PAE switch.
The /3GB switch is for debugging.

Re: Compaq ML570 Windows 2000 Advanced Server 8GB Mem Limit
BTW... what application are you using to check the memory size of the box? Only applications that reference the /LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag or link the awareness in their header when coded, say using the Platform API, can see it. If you are using the Task Manager, it wont show it...

Have a read of: http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/platform/server/PAE/PAEdrv.asp
The ML570 is a /PAE compatable server...
