Re: Compaq Proliant 6400r fedora core 5
Thankyou for the information its very helpfull.
I wonder if I might pick your brains further, I have configured the server using smartstart and it is ready for installation of an operating system but which choice do I select when it comes to installing the os, ie: linux, windows etc etc, and also how do I get the server to boot from the cd rom drive to install.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: Compaq Proliant 6400r fedora core 5
Thankyou for the information its very helpful.
I wonder if I might pick your brains further, I have configured the server and F1 storage array using smartstart and it is ready for installation of an operating system but which choice do I select when it comes to installing the os, ie: linux, windows etc etc.
Do you think that downloading fedora core 7 would be best and also how do I get the server to boot from the cd rom drive to install.
Thanks again for your help.

Solution- Yes, you have to choose Linux
- just a thought because the latest is Fedora 7, it's up to you and the server.
- OK, if you're using or used SmartStart CD(SSCD) to run the installation, when the smartstart cd ask you for the Cd os the OS just take SSCD out and put fedora in there. (I dont know if you're talking about this of i'm wrong)
