Re: Compaq ProLiant ML370 Server G1
Contents of this ZIP file:
Readme.txt
CD ISO image
spd.ini
Making a physical CD from an ISO image file
Download the file to a temporary directory and extract the ISO image to that directory.
To create a CD from this ISO image, you must use a software utility capable of writing an ISO file to a recordable media such as CD-R.
Note: Simply copying the ISO file to a CD-R will NOT result in a usable CD.
Use NERO or any software capable to make a cd out of an ISO file.. burning the ISO file as file won't work as bootable cd..

Re: Compaq ProLiant ML370 Server G1
Now, what you have to do is do a manual installation, provide the storage controller driver by pressing F6 when begining the installation.
Right after installing apply the Proliant Support Pack and reboot.

Re: Compaq ProLiant ML370 Server G1
Use the Bootable SSCD for windows 2000 to configure the array.. then save changes and boot to windows CD.. or use nliteos from www.nliteos.com to make a slipstream cd..
For more info look for nliteos on the forums search engine..

Re: Compaq ProLiant ML370 Server G1
could you advise where to update the Driver - Storage Controller, diskette
as i found mostly are gui and run by windows, there is no which create a disk
so let us assume, we install manually windows 2003 during this we need array controller scsi 431 diskette
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/locate/69_1270.html
i download all , but no one is diskette for windows 2003
can you put some highlight on it.
also i start downloading 5.5 smartstart cd which is the last version support on this model of server
thanks and kind regards

Re: Compaq ProLiant ML370 Server G1
You are in a little bit of a tight spot. There is no Windows 2003 driver diskette for the server, and the Smartstart 5.5 doesn't support "assisted install" for Windows 2003 server.
This issue has also been discussed elsewhere on ITRC.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=675699
If that gives you no joy, check the document "Implementing Microsoft Windows Server 2003" at:
http://internet.ziffdavis.com/hp/wpapers/Win2003_upgrade_WP.pdf
(Page 12 onwards)
Please note that the white paper talks about creating System Configuration Utility diskettes to help in Smartstart assisted install. I haven't tried it, but please do let us know if it works that way.
