Connect Dell PowerVault LTO4 device to DL380
Hello everyone,
I want to connect an external Dell PowerVault LTO4 backup device to an HP DL380G5 Server. The backup device has a SAS interface. What kind of equipment will be necessary?
Thank you.

Re: Connect Dell PowerVault LTO4 device to DL380
A simple SAS controller with an external port ought to do it. Some HP raid controllers claim that they support tape drives but I would stay away from mixing tape drives and disks on a raid controller. that set up. The SC44Ge looks like the best option to me.
You also need to install the necessary drivers on the OS and check if the software that you are going to use with the tape drive supports LTO4 drives with SAS interface.
