Connecting it to an external SCSI I box
Hi,
I have an external device, boxed with 50 pin Centronix SCSI I connector at its back. I want to connect the external 68pin of the Compaq to the external box. I have used an interface cable with the proper endings however, the system always reports,
1702-SCSI Cable Error Detected, System Board
System Halted
I have used three other cables, and two other boxes all with the same error. The ML370 has already two disks and I used ID 5 or 6 for the external box.
With Adaptec cards I had the chance to sort out the termination problems. With the embedded controler I do not have the control. Could you please inform me How I can connect a scsiI/II to the 68pin(Ultra wide) controller in Compaq,
Regards,

Re: Connecting it to an external SCSI I box
Dear Sysop,
I know that no offence will be taken, nevertheless it is the second time within lats two years that I have posted the problems I had in this forum, and have to solve it myself, without getting any answer here. To be more precise, the second one was sorted out by the Compaq Support today, and the first one by myself two years ago,
Regards,
