Constantly hanging / freezing
We do not have the problem with the other servers. The other servers do not run backups or have GIG NIC?s installed.
The problem server has 512 Mb of RAM, Dual PII 400 running NT4 Server, Service Pack 5, Compaq Insight agent version 4.90.
The server hangs several times a week to several times a day.
We have 7 x 9.1 Gig SCSI drives in it, the first 2 are mirrored (New Operating System) and the other 5, Raid 5. We have rebuilt the server on numerous occasions, installed new drives and installed a new OS on them. Replaced processors, memory modules, Compaq GIG NIC (NC6132), raid controller, DLT drive, power supply, processor board with cage, mainboard.
We are able to log into the server but when we try to launch an application it freezes and all client connections are unavailable. We are able to ping the server, but we are unable to make a connection via server manager. We are able to move the mouse around. When we check the LED?s on the Smart 2DH Controller, all lights are lit. This Server is a member server, with printers and data. It runs Arcserve 6.5 and McAfee 4.03 virusscan, with HP JetAdmin for the printers.
The only way to get the server active again is to power off and power back on again. It doesn?t blue screen so we don?t get any dump information. The following is a list of when the machine has frozen over the last couple of months.

We have two 35/70 Gig DLT?s tape drives.
COMPAQ has replaced the whole box with another Proliant 1600R and the only thing transferred over were the drives. The problem is still occurring.
Please help if you can ??..

cable or a simple hub, no other connections. Try launching the app again.

We turned off the ASR, so we could get a blue screen to debug. We used dumpchk and pstat to determine where the error was coming from. It pointed to the Drive Array. We ran Compaq Diagnostics on the Drive Array and it stated all is working fine... but we still get the same reboot with 6008 event ID.
I am assuming it is a driver error now and possibly a conflict with NT and the Compaq driver.
Let me know if you find a solution.
