Controller
While setup it will find the hard drives and goes to the smartstart install window, after inserting the smartstart server profile disk it reboots itself and giving a message Smart start cannot continue because there are no Physical or Logical disks on the primary controller.

Re: Controller
While assuming that you are attempting to install Microsoft NT, you may want to try a manual install by booting to the NT cd without smartstart. As soon as the machine gets through POST and starts hitting the cd, press "F6" several times to interrupt setup so that you can "S"pecify drivers and use diskette number 2 of the NTSSD (note: create NTSSD diskettes on another workstation using diskette builder). Select Compaq 32-Bit scsi controller from list, also, load idecdattapi for CD-rom drive and continue with setup. See if it locates the hard drive then. If so, the problem would be with the native driver loaded by NT setup for the scsi controller. If installation finishes by using the manual process as outlined above, then, go back and run the NTSSD to load the rest of the Compaq specific drivers and you will be ok.
