Correct Memory Config for Proliant DL380G7
I have a question regarding the correct memory configuration on some new servers. We purchased 4 Proliant DL380G7 servers to use as ESXi servers in our VMware environment. These servers have 2 x 6 core Intel Xeon X5690 processors. There are 3 memory channels, with 3 slots for each channel (1-9) for each processor for a total of 18 slots. We had a vendor help with the specs and we have 24 of the HP 16GB 4RX4 PC3-8500R-7 Kits and 24 of the HP 8GB 2RX4 PC3-10600R-9 Kits. So I will have 6 x 16 GB DIMMS and 6 x 8 GB DIMMs for each server. I want to make sure I get the memory configuration correct. I was looking at the HP site for memory config on this server and I think I have it down but IтАЩm not 100% sure. This is what I came up with, I will populate slots 3, 6 & 9 for each processor with a 16 GB DIMM and the populate slots 2, 5 & 8 for each processor with the 8 GB DIMMs. Is this correct?

Re: Correct Memory Config for Proliant DL380G7
Hello,
In order to configure the memory on the server I would suggest you to use the memory configuration tool.
Refer the link provided below in order to get the tool:
