CPU upgrade 266 to 300
Hi there. I'm trying to upgrade a Proliant 1600R (6/266) E34 from it's original PII 266 to a PII 300. I installed the PII 300 and on boot, up after initializing the memory, the message on screen said that the processor has been initialized to Pentium II 266 512kb.
Are there any jumpers I need to set on the main board ? How do I set the CPU speed in the system configuration on F10 ? What is the highest processor speed I can upgrade to ? Your help is greatly appreciated.
P.S. I am planning on installing win2k fresh on this machine. It is currently running NT4 Server.
