CPU Upgrade Proliant 800 Pentium Pro
I have a Proliant 800 Dual Pentium Pro (200 mgz each) system and have found a Processor upgrade specific to pentium pro replacement. It is an Intel pentium II overdrive . The specs appear to be all in place as a viable upgrade but would like to know if this is truly an option and if there is anything that I would need to know before I jump in . See atachment to see the upgrade processor

Re: CPU Upgrade Proliant 800 Pentium Pro
I don't think it is going to work. I don't think that the system board is going to recognize the processor.

Re: CPU Upgrade Proliant 800 Pentium Pro
Intel had a compatibility list for systems supporting the PII overdrive CPU.
If the PL800 is not listed there is only a small chance its going to work.
Make sure to have the latest ROMpaq installed, for correct detection of the CPU.

Re: CPU Upgrade Proliant 800 Pentium Pro
While it works on a PL2500, the 800 seems to not be able to handle extra cache.
