cpu upgrade proliant 800
Hi,
I'm trying to do a cpu upgrade on an proliant 800, from p2 350mhz to p3 450mhz.
I did already an bios upgrade (p18), en set the switches for 450mhz. but its still not working. (the 'new' cpu is works with another computer, so the cpu is not damaged)
I spoke with other people, and they say, that it gotta work.
is there maybe an difference between the powerboard for an p2 and p3?
or is it something else!
i hope someone can help me!

Re: cpu upgrade proliant 800
Hi Rob,
Please make sure that your system board does show the following P/N:
System/Processor Board only (350e to 500 MHz) 320978-001
and the Processor Power Module should be:
Processor Power Module (350E,400,450) 327660-001
I recall PL800 came in two different SCUs one was Pentium II 350 and the other was Pentium II 350E. I am not sure what you have.
Regards,
