Hi there
I've got a Proliant DL380 G2 with an integrated Smart Array 5i and a Cygent Storage Solutions id100 CD jukebox I want to hook up to it. I don't have the manual for the jukebox and the company doesn't seem to exist anymore. All I know about it is that it has two SCSI "in" connectors on the back and a sticker that says "MANUF 6/99"
I have never attached anything other than a CPQ hard-drive to a Smart Array before - can I hook up the back connector on the Proliant to the jukebox? Or do I need a standard SCSI card? Either way I will need a 2nd channel connector (since the Proliant only has one external conenctor, and I am using the internal connector for RAID HDDs)
What SCSI controller will works with the Cygnet id100? Does it have to be something specific? EG will a HP Ultra320 work or do I need something "older" like SCSI-3 or SCSI-2? Narrow? Wide? Anyone know anything about this box?
Thanks
Adam White

Solution
Adam:
The ID100 has a SCSI-2 interface.
I recommend the Dual Channel LSI or Adaptec Cards:
