D3600 enclosure with Proliant Gen10
Hi all,
Old versions of D3000 enclosure datasheets indicate that D3600 enclosures are not compatible with Gen10 controllers. In new datasheets D3600 and D3700 are deleted.
"Smart Array Controllers P421, P431, P441, P822 or P841 support the mixing of the D3600 and the D3700 for expansion, Supports four (4) D3600/D3710 and four (4) D3700/D3710 (4xLFF and 4xSFF) allowing for expansion up to 148 drives. (Total of 8 enclosures in any combination). Flexibility to mix and match SAS and SATA drives in the same enclosure. The D3610 and D3710 also support the E208e-p and the E408e-p controllers."
But I see that since 3.64 firmware the D3600 / D3700 / D3610 / D3710 Enclosure can be attached to any of the following HP Storage Controllers and Host Bus Adapters :
HP H222 Host Bus Adapter
HP H221 Host Bus Adapter
HP Smart Array P841 Controller
HP Smart Array P822 Controller
HPE Smart Array P408e-p SR Gen10 Controller
HP Smart Array P441 Controller
HP Smart Array P431 Controller
Smart Array P421
HPE Smart Array E208e-p SR Gen10 Controller
HP Smart HBA H241
Could someone explain the difference between D3600 and D3610 and confirm If we are able to use D3600 enclosures with Gen10 servers without any limitation?.
Thank you in advance

Re: D3600 enclosure with Proliant Gen10
Hello,
The D3610 and D3710 support the Gen10 E208e-p and the P408e-p Gen10 Smart Array SR controllers for Gen10 and Gen10+ ProLiant servers and only the Gen10 E208e-p for Gen11 ProLiant servers.
