Dead ML370 G3 RAID
Hi,
I've inherited a ml370 g3 but it looks like the raid config has been broken, the system util partition is gone and Smart start 7.51 wont let me do anything with the raid as I states it cant find a supported raid controller.....any suggestions about how i can configure the disk would be great!
Thanks,
Sean

Re: Dead ML370 G3 RAID
Hi Sean,
Im no expert (in fact when it comes to servers Im a complete novice), but I do have an ML370 Im using at home. Not sure what Os you are using but as you have tried smartstart I guess it is a windows os? I used smartstart to install win NT a few days ago. Now I dont know if this will help but when smartstart boots up it gives you several icons in a row. For me it was just a simple case of using them in turn from left to right. It didn't ask me for any additional disks with drivers for the raid however I do have a copy of the compaq support disks (4 in all) which have the info on them. I believe they should be readily available to download to floppy disk from the compaq website. You should also be able to download from the same place an update of the smartstart software. The one Im using is 5.50 which has worked just fine for me.
Hope this helps
Antony

Re: Dead ML370 G3 RAID
Which array controller is actually installed in the server? This machine doesn't normally ship with one when it comes from HP.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
