Diagnostics Error

I have a server that has been standing for a while. It had 64MB of ram but some of it disappeared. Now it has only 16MB. I run the System Configuration disks that I down loaded and it changed the memory to 16MB. Now it boots fine, but when I run the Server Diagnostic Disk it hangs the computer when it is loading INPUTS.*** What could cause this?
