disable keyboard detection in BIOS

How do I disable keyboard detection within the BIOS of this machine? Right now, the boot process stops if there is no keyboard connected. I don't want to have a keyboard, mouse, or monitor connected to this machine. I don't have (or want) a system utility partition on the disk. When I boot, I don't see any way to get into the BIOS to make changes. If I boot from a SmartStart CD, I don't see any place where I can change or even view the keyboard detection setting. I can't imagine that a rack-nount "server" would always need to have a keyboard connected.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Re: disable keyboard detection in BIOS

Hi, server in a rack configuration are plug through the KVM switch, that way it won?t give any error on post. With no key board you will get the error. Hope this help.

Re: disable keyboard detection in BIOS

c-boileau,

Are you saying that it is NOT POSSIBLE to disable the keyboard detection? I find that hard to believe. This is supposed to be a server! Why would I want to keep a keyboard on a server, with or without a KVM switch? That doesn't make sense. Even my 5-year old Digital desktop machine has a BIOS setting to continue booting if there is no keyboard. In my mind, this would make the DL380 completely useless in a remote data center.

Thanks for your reply, but I really hope that your wrong. Otherwise, I have 5 new DL380s that are useless to me.
