DISK FAIL in smartArray E200i
hi, one disk failed ona RAID 1 array. (ML350G5)
at reboot, the controller prompts:
F1 to disable all logical drives or
F2 to fail the dead drive and go into a "interim recovery" mode.
question is: while i am waiting for the spare part, can i boot the server with only one drive?
what the F2 option exactly does?
thanks in advance.

Re: DISK FAIL in smartArray E200i
hmmmm.. ajcurrie
you can safely press F2 and continue , by doing this you are acknowledging the raid has failed for now till a new disk is insertd,
the above is all normal behaviour when a disk fails
when you get the new disk insert it , it will auto rebuild , you will see it flash,
under the rare event it does not start auto rebuiled just reboot the server and it will continue
hint
