Disk Thrashing
I have a DL580 with a 5304 raid card running a 4354 storage enclosure. The enclosure is full of 18.2GB ultra3 15k disks in a raid 0+1 configuration. I have created a drive using all the space and formatted it but I am currently not using it. When we look at the disks they seem to be active constantly even though nothing is on there and no one can access them. The server is running W2K with all the latest software comapeq software. Can any one help?

Re: Disk Thrashing
are you sure that it is the activity light that is on and not just the power lights? if it is the activity light then either someone is accessing it or there is some sort of program doing something in the background...you might not have enough ram in the system so it is accessing the paging file all the time...could be any number of things
