DL 180 G6 and Windows 2003 / 2008 server
I tried to install Windows 2003 and even Windows 2003 R2 on my DL180 G6, starting with the Easy install disk.
Both failed.
Windows 2003 gave BSD during install
Windows 2003 R2 completed installation and then could not see the DVD anymore.
Any ideas

Re: DL 180 G6 and Windows 2003 / 2008 server
Hello,
1) check if your hw is OK
2) update all firmwares with firmware dvd
3) have you used SmartStart cd during OS install? If not, use it.

Re: DL 180 G6 and Windows 2003 / 2008 server
With this DL180 there is no SmartStart CD included. Just an EasyInstall CD that does in fact not contain specific drivers like in SmartStart.
In order to update firmware, need to have a working system.

Re: DL 180 G6 and Windows 2003 / 2008 server
ahh, I see...
I did not noticed these advanced features are available only for HP 3xx and higher servers...
Ok - my sugestion is use win2003r2 for updating firmwares etc. Don't care about dvd, use usb keys to make network working, then is is easy...
