Re: Dl 380 Raid controller problem

I would say...

As Soon As Possible?

The battery is not a critical component unless your server is prone to power failures and you run an i/o intensive app that stores alot of data in write cache before writing. You can probably disable the write cache and not even worry about the battery, but if it is complaining, i'd change it just to make sure something else isn't wrong.

Is it under warranty? Get it replaced for free. If not, your call. Maybe you can find one forcheap on ebay.

Re: Dl 380 Raid controller problem

Shay,
Sometimes error about battery related to old SmartArray firmware.
If you have DL380 G4 with SmartArray 6x controller - make sure you have last SmartArray firmware

From SmartArray 6x controllers firmware revision history:
"Updated the battery firmware to improve the sensing and reporting of battery health. This helps prevent battery status messages from alternating or indicating false status"

Re: Dl 380 Raid controller problem

Hi

It"s an old DL380 I think G1 or G2.

Can I disable the battery from the OS?
