DL 580 G2 / 1.4 CPUs - Possible CPU Upgrade?

Hi, i have a DL 580 G2 with (2) 1.4 GHz CPUs. I was wondenring what's the fastest CPU that i can upgrade it to? Can in replace those 1.4 CPUs with (2) 3.0 GHz CPUs?

The same machine you have will support the latest 3 GHZ processors for this machine

Hi Gianni,

Yes, the DL580 G2 supports up to Xeon MP 3.0 with 4Mb L3 cache. You must upgrade the system BIOS before upgrading or you may receive an "unsupported cpu" error.

PPM modules for the CPU's are the same for all models so it's really only the CPU's which get replaced. Note: You cannot mix different speed CPU's.
