DL160 G5 - Maximum SATA disk size
Hi,
Does anyone knows or tried the maximum SATA disk size in a DL160 G5?
At www.hp.com it says this server supports 750Gb SATA disks non Hotplug
At www.hp.pt it says that it only supports 500Gb non Hotplug.
In spite of this divergence... does anyone already tried to use a 1TB SATA disk?
I want to purchase a lowcost server and i like the DL160 G5 but I want to buy the disks from another reseller (less expensive). So I need to know if i can buy 1TB SATA Disks.
Regards from Portugal,
Luis Afonso

Re: DL160 G5 - Maximum SATA disk size
Hi,
Mine came with 3TB preinstalled, four 750GB disks. Maybe another reseller can sell you the whole package for less?
We found the difference between 2TB and 3TB was only $500 US. So the best pricing value with disk preinstalled is probably the fully loaded 3TB configuration.
Best,
Rich

Re: DL160 G5 - Maximum SATA disk size
Thanks,
But i know Hp doesn't have 1TB disks yet. So i'm asking if the 750GB limitation is becasuse Hp doesn't have Tera Disks or it is a disk controller limitation?
regards
