DL160 G6 - BMC Not Responding
I found this thread with similar problem:
DL160 G5 - 601 BMC Not Responding http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1438991
My BMC isn't responding too. I tried to upgrade it to 2.41 (version was 2.40) but with no success.
I has access to BMC via serial port, but no any network access. Even more to say - it will hang sporadically after some time of being online.
when it is in hanged state the command:
show /map1
will show empty fields (like in BIOS).
Previously server was online in cool conditions (20-22C) during a couple of days, after then - no BMC.
Maybe this error wasn't fixed as stated in errata to 2.41 (SP47476) ?
How can I fix it without replacing the server (it will be to long to do so) ?

Re: DL160 G6 - BMC Not Responding
Also I tried system reset from the "Drivers CD" and of course with the same result - no joy.
maybe there is some debug mode for this ?
(for example, some 3COM switches allows you to see error logs and so on)
maybe some chip is damaged? (but hardware tests from "Drivers CD" goes ok)

---[cut]---
Generally: I (for one) avoid 1xx-series series HP servers such as the DL140 and DL165 like the plague. They're almost all badged OEM boxes, not really designed by HP: or at least, I sure hope those pieces aren't.
For example, 1xx servers don't have iLO, or iLO2.
LO100i is buggy as ****.

I feel disappointment :-(

Re: DL160 G6 - BMC Not Responding
Did you fix this problem? Did HP get involved in this?
