Hello.
I have DL180 and (if i got it right) there is HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller in it.
I've updated BIOS firmware and now I try to update RAID controller too.
None of Firmwares from HP isn't suited (can't find controller).
From linux I see there is an intel embedded controller in thr server:
0000:00:1f.2 RAID bus controller [0104]: Intel Corporation 82801 SATA Controller [RAID mode] [8086:2822] (rev 02)
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:31f4]
Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 15
I/O ports at d000
I/O ports at cc00
I/O ports at c880
I/O ports at c800
I/O ports at c480
Memory at fceff000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
Capabilities: [80] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/16 Maskable- 64bit-
Capabilities: [70] Power Management version 3
Capabilities: [a8] SATA HBA v1.0
Capabilities: [b0] PCI Advanced Features
Kernel driver in use: ahci
So.... I have some questions:
1st: If has been the RAID updated within BIOS update (since RAID is embedded)?
2st: if hasn't done where can i find firmware for it?
3st : Where can I find drivers to install windows (Windows can't see disk during installation)
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: DL180 G5 HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller Driver and Firmware
Hi,
I could not find any specific firmware for the Embedded controller except this. See if this works, else you may be right that BIOS firmware will have Controller firmware.
Windows OS drivers, see this link and instructions.
Also checkout this Notice.
Thank You!

Solutionhi,
There is no separate FW for this contrller. It's the bios one.
What do you want to install (OS type)?
How to install the driver/OS:
- Create a driver disk by extracting the contents of the Smart Component to a removable USB drive.
- Start installing Microsoft Windows ???? operating system.
- While creating the partition, insert the removable USB drive you created in Step 1 and select ‘Load Driver’ and browse to the respective directory on the USB drive where driver files are present.
- Install the driver.
- Continue with creating drive partition and continue installation.
Thanks,
regards,
