DL180, vSphere triggers strange alarm: Host storage status
Hey folks,
Early in the morning we noticed an alarm on one of our hosts; Host storage status.
Sensors show me this (the forum does not allow me to insert the screenshot):
(here the disks that are fine)
and then...
- Disk 5 on HPSA1 : Port 2I Box 1 Bay 5 : 0GB : Data Disk : Disk Error
- Disk 6 on HPSA1 : Port 2I Box 1 Bay 6 : 0GB : Data Disk : Disk Error
- HP Smart Array P410 Controller: Slot 1 : HPAS1
- Logical Volume 1 on HPSA1 : RAID 1 + 0 : 931GB : Disk 1,2,3,4
- Logical Volume 2 on HPSA2 : RAID 1 :: 1862GB : Disk 5,6 : Failed
The strange fact here is that this host does not have any physical disk on those bays (5 and 6) and never had.
No amber light on current disks on bays 1, 2, 3 and 4 neither.
Server information:
- ESXi 5.1.0 , 799733 -
- Image profile: HP-ESXi-5.1.0-standard-iso
- Hardware: HP ProLiant DL180 G6
- Managed by vCenter and non part of a cluster
- has no iLO
- Current Offline bundle: 1.3.5

Does anyone have any clue why this could be happening? Why this alarm could be triggered?
Thanks in advance.

Re: DL180, vSphere triggers strange alarm: Host storage status
Thanks for the answer.
I attached the ADU report on txt fromat. I didn't get much into details yet, but it seems to be reporting the same issue about those empty bays and a logical volume that shouldn't ever existed.
