DL20 gen11 ASR reboot for no apparent reasons after applying latest SPP

I was gettng ASR reboot for no apparent reason, so I applied SPP via Connect CD/DVD-ROM.

Process was pretty long I saw it was applying firmware updates for hardware I knew had to be updated BUT it seems it didn't or at least not to the latest version.

eg. it apparently tried to update BCM 5719 but version is stuck at 20.31.41 while I can see 2.39.0 is available, System ROM is at 2.10 (12/06/2024) that seems pretty old etc...

ASR reboot are still happening... and updating the firmwares one by one seems a pretty frustrating process.

Hi @IvanSB ,
There may be some issue in firmware update.
You can try once again upgrading the firmware by mounting the SPP image file as virtual media from UEFI shell or from System Utilities.  Refer this document.
Steps for firmware update -
1) Download the proper SPP.
2) Mount the downloaded SPP ISO image as virtual media or create the bootable USB media.
3) Reboot the system, boot with SPP image, select 'Interactive mode' or use Intelligent provisioning, select 'Firmware update'
4) Follow the further instructions to finish the firmware update.

Re: DL20 gen11 ASR reboot for no apparent reasons after applying latest SPP

I did it more than one time, apparently everything goes fine but iLO still report old firmware.

I even rebooted iLO via hponcfg -b but iLO keeps reporting old firmware and as soon as I enable ASR the machine get rebooted every timeout for apparently no good reasons.

I did check the md5sum of the iso image and it was fine. So I wouldn't blame the iso image.

Re: DL20 gen11 ASR reboot for no apparent reasons after applying latest SPP

Greetings!

If you have applied the latest Gen11 SPP successfully however the firmware is not reflecting in the iLO.
Please perform an AC power cycle and check the outcome.
If the issue persists, clear NVRAM (S6) using System maintenance switch and check the outcome.
