DL320 and unsupported PCI card detected.
I have installed an Adaptec 29320ALP-R PCI-X SCSI card into slot1. When I boot the server I get the following error message: unsupported PCI card detected. remove the pci card from slot1. system halted. The riser board that I have installed is a PCI-X, and the Adaptec card is PCI-X. If I remove the card, the server boots fine.

Re: DL320 and unsupported PCI card detected.
(Unfortunately) HP tends to support HP-branded options only.
So I am not surprised with the behaviour of your box.
Try to use HP Smart Array controller instead if you can:
Smart Array 6404/256 Controller
273914-B21
Smart Array 6402/128 Controller
273915-B21
Smart Array 641 Controller
291966-B21
Smart Array 642 Controller
291967-B21

Re: DL320 and unsupported PCI card detected.
According to HP's tech support, adaptec is a 3rd party, and therefore the card is unsupported. So, I am purchasing an HP card, in order for the server to boot.
