DL320 G3 Red Hat and RAID Controller

I want to install Red Hat ES 3.4 (or higher but no Beta) on a DL320 G3.
And I want to use the RAID Controller (Intel 82801) for RAID-1 (i've got two ATA disks).

When enabling RAID (via F9), the install program of Red Hat says "No disk found".

I've tried different things whitout results...
... Anyone got any (successfull) experience ?

thank's

Re: DL320 G3 Red Hat and RAID Controller

Hi

This problem has been discussed in the forum before the reason for this is the redhat by default does not have the driver for the raid controller.
You need to download the raid controller driver from the hp site burn it into a floppy
(instructions are there on the website)
Please Note to use only the release version mentioned since these drivers are tested only with those version.
After you have the driver disk then you need to select the additional driver option during install and once prompted put the floppy in which would sense the harddrive/partition, make sure you have the Array configured before starting the OS install.

Hoep this helps.

I have found 2 rpms called aarich-6...

Anyway, I will browse the forum to try to find the previous topic talking about that's

Re: DL320 G3 Red Hat and RAID Controller

I've found end used the following download :
HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller Driver Diskette for Red Hat EL 3 (x86)" version 6.00.075

after linux dd read the diskette I have -approximatively - the message "no good driver found : select manualy/continue/other disk"
I selected manualy aarich

Install ontinue, but when reaching the creation of partitions : "No drive found"

Whats's wrong ???
Any idea ?

Re: DL320 G3 Red Hat and RAID Controller

You did create Logical RAID disk in BIOS, didn't you?
Is there someone who could handle all of this!
