DL320 G5p with HP 8 INT port 64/133 PCI-X SAS RAID
I have a HP DL320 G5p with the above card fitted part no 347786-B21. I then have a cable part No 457644-001 connected to 2 x SAS disks part no 481653-001. The problem I have is that when I boot the sever it goes through OK until i reach the LSI array configuration. If I press F8 the server halts or I get a strange blue screen with some od charaters on it. If I do not press F8 the server passes the LSI configuration and reports the 2 disks (in both the above cases the server beeps twice) If I do not enter LSI configuration the server loads the CD but no drives are shown. What I am trying to do is raid the 2 disks as a mirror. Anyone got any ideas

Try connecting 1 drive at time to detect if it is a single drive in error.
Otherwise it could be a controller error... Try change the controller slot and update controller firmware if available.

Tried that. What I should have mentioned is that I have 2 of these servers and get the same problem on both so I think we can rule out hardware or cards. Will try a firmware update tomorrow
