DL345 fails to boot Server 2022 after Windows Update 2024-11
i today had an issue after installing Windowsupdate 2024-11 on Server 2022.
After the Update on second reboot during Windows Update Installation BIOS got stuck after ABP PL Post complete.
The server was running V1.42 (yes i know it is old)
Flashing Server BIOS to V 1.62 fixes the problem. Flash of newer versions failed.
When Server was Up again i did the Update to V 1.70
REMARK: can anyone tell me, why MS seems to modify UEFI BIOS of Servers without any warning?
Greetings from Germany

Microsoft doesn't directly modify your server's BIOS/UEFI during updates. However, certain Windows updates may require newer firmware versions to ensure compatibility with hardware features, like Secure Boot or TPM. The update you applied might have triggered issues due to your BIOS being outdated. It's always a good practice to check and update the BIOS/firmware before applying major OS updates to avoid these kinds of problems. The lack of warning is likely because these interactions are assumed to be handled by the hardware vendor, not by Microsoft.

Re: DL345 fails to boot Server 2022 after Windows Update 2024-11
I did not expect, that a monthly Windows Update could be a major OS update which needs checking of BIOS Levels.
Lesson learned.
With installed SPP latest Build i hadnt had the issue. I will call my customers and recommend a preamptive maintance a month after new SPPs were released.
BTW: SPP_for_GEN10 is spooly. Depending on OS Installation and Browser Settings Installations differs.
In many cases Baseline is not found automatically on locally mounted ISO.
No Problems with SPP:GEN11
