DL360 3G = interlock light on and bad internal health - help on diagnosis
I have:
(1) reset my switches for dual power supplies
(2) tried single power supply with switch dual PS switch off
(3) replaced entire front bezel (contains cpu fans, power buttons, leds)
(4) tried out new power supplies
(5) took apart everything and reseated everything
(6) tried swapping in different sticks of ram 1 at a time
my symptoms:
(1) amber interlock light on
(2) red internal health light
(3) cpu not getting warm/turning on
(4) CPU fans not spinning
(5) harddrives not spinning up
(6) harddrive lights not on
(7) power just comes on when i put power plug in. No way to turn it off, except pull the plug.
i tried flipping switches on debug switch bank:
(flip 1, all others off) top 2 lights on PAL LED bank flash on and off
(flip 2, all others off) all lights are solid
I can not for the life of me find out why these two lights are flashing.
Can anyone recommend a reasonable way to diagnose this hardware? I am VERY surprised at the lack of methods to do so on such talked about hardware platform. So far, very disappointing.
I have read nearly all service and user manuals for all generations of this server... no help so far.
Any recommendations? If i spend any more money on this thing, i might as well buy a user server.

Re: DL360 3G = interlock light on and bad internal health - help on diagnosis
I'm not familiar with the Dl360 but
I had an excatly similar case with DL380 and that was caused by an improperly reseated PCI riser card.
Also if you have the Raid 5i adapter improperly seated or missing ( in case you want to use a PCI-card RAID adapter ) can cause the system not to boot at all.
