DL360 G5 RAID 1 in debian 3.1

I´m trying to install debian 3.1 in a DL360 G5, i configure a raid 1+0 with 2 hd but when i´m installing debian and it starts with the partition it says that there´s no disc partitionable and I don´t know why is this happening.

i try deleting all the arrays but it seems that it makes the raid 1 by default.

Anyone know something about this?

Hi,
have u checked whether it is supported on this server OR storage controller drivers are available ?
Check/Download from :

For supported Linux versions, Storage controller driver should be provided, through diskette.
Sample the following for the RHEL 5 :

Debian is suported in this server, but I don´t understand why the instalation of debian don´t see my HD.

is there any manual that explain how to make raid in this servers?

The default debian installer doesn't support the onboard storage controller in DL360G5.You need to download and install using the hp customized Net Installer which is having the driver support for this server.

I hace download the ISO but I can´t probe it until next week. Are you sure that with this ISO i will be able to install debian 3.1 and it will recognise the hard disks?

It says that it can´t install grub. and it´s the same about lilo, wath can i do?

If you are trying to install 32-bit (i386) version you need to craete a 512 MB /boot partition at the partitioning time.I hope this will solve your problem,it is there in the known issues listed in Debian sarge HOWTO document.

Please go through the first issue in the known issue table.I don't remember what was the exact error message that I got when tried to install,but I was able to install grub successfully when I created 512 /boot partition.

Hi, it´s me again.

The server was working ok but a week ago I couldn´t connect by ssh even I couldn´t see the web site.
I went to the severs room and i sew these error in the screen (many times)

ext3-fs error (device cciss/c0d0p2) in start_transaction : journal has aborted

anyone has this problem?

Hi, I´m trying to install again debian and occurs a problem when it is intalling "base system" "downloading apt" it can´t continue and says something about "debootstrap".

I´m using the HP proliant cd for debian 3.1
