DL360 G5 - Xeon Dual Core 1.6 ghz processor - upgrade processor
Can I upgrade the processor to one of the 3 ghz dual or quad core processors?
And how can you find out what socket type is in the motherboard or the specs of the motherboard?
If I can find out the type of motherboard that's in the server, then I can find out the socket type. Where can I find this type of info?
Thanks

Re: DL360 G5 - Xeon Dual Core 1.6 ghz processor - upgrade processor
The server has an Intel 5000P chipset motherboard. SOCKET TYPE : LGA 771
If your current system board spare number is 412199-001, then You have to use a different system board with Spare # : 436066-001 for Quad Core support. This is because the system board you currently have can support only the 50xx and 51xx series processors.
NOTE: 5100 Dual-Core models are not upgradeable to the 5200 Dual-Core processors.

I know that I am intelligent, because I know that I know nothing.
