DL360p G8 and memory from G7

Hello,

My DL360p G8 servers have the following memory kit:  4x 647653-081 HP 16GB (1 x 16GB) dual rank x4 PC3L-10600R (DDR3-1333) Registered CAS-9 low voltage memory kit 

But my older DL360p G7 servers have 628974-081 HP 16GB (1x16GB) Dual Rank x4 PC3L-10600 (DDR3-1333) Registered CAS-9 Low Power Memory Kit 

Can I insert memory kit from G7 to G8? I want to put one kind of memory in the servers, I don't want to mix them up.

Will there be any problems with this?

Ilo can't see HPE SmartMemory and Part Number, rest looks the same.

Hi,

Gen8 uses SmartMemory technology, where older memory modules are not compatible even though the description looks alike.

NOTE: HP memory from previous generation servers are not qualified or warranted with this HP ProLiant Server. HP SmartMemory is required to realize the memory performance improvements and enhanced functionality listed in this document for Gen8.
