DL380/360 G5 Redundant Power Supplies
We are considering two R5500 (with ERMs) with redundant power supplies in the servers, and having each R5500 connected to each server.
This would (we believe!) prevent the failure of one UPS bringing the system down.
There seems to be little documentation on such topics - any advice much appreciated.

Suspect there must be something on this topic - after all if trying to avoid a single point-of-failure two UPS must be better than one.

Re: DL380/360 G5 Redundant Power Supplies
The only caveat (other than cost) is you must make sure a single UPS has the capacity for all your equipment and that you test occasionally.
It has avoided down time in a couple instances.

Re: DL380/360 G5 Redundant Power Supplies
In one instance we lost one phase of the power coming into our building. As one of the UPSs was on the other phase we had enough time to move the one UPS over to another live circuit (it's good to have an extension cord).
