DL380 G3 and Smart Array 642

I am using an Smart arry 642 and the integrated 5i in the DL380 G3. I am using NT4 with SP6, when I use the ACU (6.3) I can only find the 5i and cannot see the 642.

How can I fix it.

Re: DL380 G3 and Smart Array 642

Hello Andy,
When you installed SA642 did you go in F9 and let the system detect the newly installed hardware?? If not then try hitting F9 and let the system recognize that a hardware addition has taken place.
I hope this helps.

Re: DL380 G3 and Smart Array 642

Are you running ACU from within the OS? If you are then the likely reason it's not seen is because the driver isn't installed.

Re: DL380 G3 and Smart Array 642

Actually, I connect 2 36GB hard disks to 5i and connect 4 137 GB Hard disk to 642.

All of them can view in the NT, but the ACU in the NT cannot see the 642

Thanks

Re: DL380 G3 and Smart Array 642

Check the cabeling (its a little tricky with DL380 G3).
Check the firmware of BOTH controllers.

Try to use ACU 2.80

which can be found at

select the correct controller.

Re: DL380 G3 and Smart Array 642

The older version of the ACU (2.x) will not see any 641/642 controllers, or later.
Version 6.20.9.0 should have support for the 642. You're using version 6.30.11.0? Do you have a Smart Start 6.3 CD? If so, what happens when you boot off this and attempt to configure the array?
