DL380 G4 and RHES 3

I am considering buying a dl380 g4 with RAID 1 for RHES3. This will be an oracle ias web server. Anyone have any gotchas to share?

for performance wise, RAID 0 is the best choice.

RAID0 will to good if your are looking faster access with no redundancy.

If you are looking for faster access and redundancy, RAID5 will be the best.

Do I need additional software on ProLiant DL380 G4 to configure RAID or is this embedded by default?

I only have 4 disks on this server. Implementing RAID 5 or RAID 1?

as KikU say's .. Raid5 is a good share between redundancy and performance!

You can easyli configure the RaidArray via ORCA (Controller Bios) or Smart Start/Array Configuration Utility

to improve performance, u can also buy an Battery Backed Write Cache Enabler for the Smart Array 6i Controller
