Please note your working with a system that went end-of-life on 2/2007, last ship was probably a year or two before then. That being said I can't recall if that system supported booting from a USB device, I'm thinking it didn't.  As far as installing over the network, Windows Deployment Services is what you need. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771670(v=ws.10).aspx

Trick,

1 x KVM

1 x Network connection

1 x Ilo connection.

1 x 90 day ilo advanced test license.

Hp Spp iso - on your pc.

Win2k8 iso - on your pc.

Boot your server and hit F8 when prompted to configure the ilo.

Configure the network settings accordingly to your network. Exit, ilo will reboot.

From your workstation ping the ilo address to make sure you can connect to it.

http:// ilo address and log on.

Add the license to the ilo.

Do a remote session to your server.

Im not sure with your version of ilo, if you add the virtual media in the remote session menu bar at the top, OR in the initial ilo screen there is an option i the tabs for virtual media.

Load and follow the options as per booting from dvd.

Finally got back round to this, a bit manic trying to set up over 200 sites with a remote desktop connection into our existing server!

On another note, Panasonic, barge pole touch not, support existeth not! 27 nice new Dell ATG's replacing CF52's, what a painless IT experience.

Looks like a long night ahead fixing up some DL's! wish me luck!
