DL380 G4 quick release levers don't latch to rackmount hw
First experience with HP rackmount kit.
Installed with no problem in 4post rack (DEC with round holes), slides in/out just fine, no binding, etc. The quick release levers on the front bezel open/close ok but will not engage the front of the rack mount. There is a stamped metal protrusion on the front of each rack rail that must pass through an opening in the bezel far enough for the lever operated, spring loaded detent to catch and hold the protrusion.
Problem is, the protrusion won't pass through the opening. Filing down 1-2mm of one corner of the protrusion or inside the opening will probably do the trick but I wanted to check with the experts in this forum to see if this is a known problem and if there's a better way to fix it.
Thanks,
Ron

If this is a new Server would recommend checking with the HP Support Team for any known issues with the HP Rackmount Kit for the specific server and get it replaced incase there is one that exists.

check position of rails in rack.
there are holes with different distance(pattern .--.--.).
maybe shifting one hole up or down solves your problem.

Re: DL380 G4 quick release levers don't latch to rackmount hw
Sounds like you are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, if you pardon the expression! ;)
Have had no problems at all with LOTS of 380G4s going into CPQ/HP Racks with SQUARE holes so not a problem with the kit. You rack sounds like a Telco Rack rather than a Server rack - buy a '3rd Party Racking kit' from HP and it shoud rack no problems
SHould be able to find the Part No. on the website somewhere......
