DL380 G4 Universial Serial Bus Controller driver issue

Hello all,

I am installing new OS windows 2000 server on HP DL380 G4 server.( Oct.2005, the server comes with SmartStart 7.40 CD)

I use SmartStart 7.40 CD and Microsoft windows 2000 Server for select customers(Cisco).

After I finish the OS installation,I found
\control panel\system\hardware\device manager\
there is yellow mark on Universial Serial Bus Controller.

However, on the bottow of devices list,
I could find Universial serial bus controllers as follows,

Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller
RSB Root Hub

I tried to reinstall "Universial Serial Bus Controller" driver, though
no any changes.

Checked hp.com website, can't find the related driver.

Anybody has any idea? or has similiar experience?

Thank you for your reply.

Are you trying to install the USB 2.0 drivers? In order for the USB controller to work properly you must have at least SP4.
You can also try this
- Update BIOS to latest revision
- ECC Correct & Scrub => Disabled
- Enable, assign IRQ for USB in BIOS.

Re: DL380 G4 Universial Serial Bus Controller driver issue

Thank you for your reply, Wei.

I am not trying to install USB2.0 driver.

I just found USB controller driver issue right after I finished OS(windows2000 server) installation.

And, it is weird that I could use USB devices such as USB drive(1Gb), USB external HDD.

I haven't update the BIOS as it is production server now.
