DL380 G5 & Unattended Server 2008 x64 install
Hello, (going to break the message down into parts)
-----
-Situation:
I have a DL380 G5 on which I am trying to get a unattended installation of server 2008 using HP RDP to work.
-----
-Problem:
Unforutnately it gets through everything, PXE boot, WinPE, File extraction... then it prompts the message:
"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encoutered and unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation."
If "OK" is pressed, then it just goes into a loop of restarting and redisplaying the above error message.
-----
-Attempts to fix it:
So far I've been able to find one suggestion that this is indicative of needing appropriate SATA drivers.
To update the drivers for the 2008 x64 install in HP RDP, I understand I would go to "../lib/osoem/proliant.zzz/w61.64/drivers", and update the driver files for sata.
In this case, I used cp010544.exe, as listed under Drivers&Software for the DL380 G5. Extracted, and then copied the .dll , .sys , .cat , .inf into the "../w61.64/drivers" mentioned above.
This unfortunately still didn't fix my problem.
-----
Any help or insight in this would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
-Aaron
