DL380 G5 HP Insight Diagnostics wrong memory message
We have a brandnew DL380 G5 with standard 4GB (1BG stacks) in place which doesn't appear as dual channel memory in the HP insight Diagnostics. We use windows2003 X64 RC2 edition. There is also 4 X 2GB stacks in place but again the message is wrong with dual channel. Anyone ideas?

Re: DL380 G5 HP Insight Diagnostics wrong memory message
Weird, your config looks valid to me.
Have you tried testing by yanking some of the DIMMs and then checking the Diags to see when it says Dual Channel is working?
Like remove all the 1GB chips and then see if it still works.
Put in 2 x 1GB and 2 x 2GB (half your ram) and see if that works.

Re: DL380 G5 HP Insight Diagnostics wrong memory message
Hi Dan,
I already tried all possible combinations - 1 GB stacks only and 2 GB stacks only , swapped position, nothing appears to do the trick so i figured that maybe the HP insight Diagnostics is wrong - it has been wrong before in another thread !
Why does the bios not complain ? There is absolute no way to check if memory is working . . . . . .
