DL380 G5 - iLO problem
Hi all, we are experiencing some problem with one of our server.
Basically we can't get any system messages from agents.
Looking in event viewer I've found the error you see attached.
I've tried to upgrade the iLO firmware (witch VCA agent) with no results cause the response was:
------------------------------------
Command Line Parameters Given: /silent
Name: Online ROM Flash for Windows - HP Integrated Lights-Out 2
New Version: 1.50 (3/12/2008)
Beginning Silent Session...
The software is not supported for installation on this system.
Unable to communicate with the management processor!
Installation will not continue.
The operation was not successful.
--------------------------------------
Any good idea?
Thanks in advance
Fulvio

How was the server built? Did you use Smart Start?
Also, what is the OS?
It could also be a hardware problem, what happens if you boot the server and access the ILO from the console?

Re: DL380 G5 - iLO problem
Hi Rob thanks for the reply.
The OS is server 2003 standard SP2.
I usually never use the smart start cd to built the server, but I install the OS and then the software (PSP, management homepage, vcrm, vca, etc)
I haven't tried yet to access the ilo from console because of this the production exchange server.
All the other servers (about 15) are built in the same way and works perfectly
