DL380 MTBF
I need MTBF data for DL380 server urgently. Why HP keep this data so secretly? This suppose to be advantage over other vendors. Some vendors give MTBF in datasheet...
MTBF for components would be helpful too.
Thanks
Configuration is:
352526-421 DL380R03 X2.8-1MB/533, 1GB
352567-B21 X2.8/533-1M 350/370/380 G3 WW
300679-B21 1GB PC2100 DDR SDRAM DIMM 2x512 WW
2 * 286714-B22 72GB 10K U320 Pluggable Hard Drive WW
291967-B21 SmartArray642 U320 Intrl.RAID Ctrl. WW

Re: DL380 MTBF
MTBF of a system is a calculation based on the MTBF of the components. For a computer system, the weakess points are the mechanical parts first, Fans and hard drives. Second is the high voltage, the power supplies.
Hard drives MTBF: 1,200,000 hours.
The fans could be almost that.
Hope that helps

Re: DL380 MTBF
MTBF of hard drive is useful, but I need at least MTBF of power supply (if I suppose that other parts have much higher MTBF) to calculate overall MTBF. (Also MTBF of fans, NIC...)
On Japan HP site I have found MTBF for cluster of DL380 servers: 675.000 hours. http://www1.jpn.hp.com/products/servers/proliant/cl-dl380g2_ps.html
PS: I have accidentally post a question with another username.
