DL380G4 and BL20PG3
Hi,
I have DL380 G4 with two mirrored hard disk using integrated smart array controller.
Now I want to change server hardware to BL20PG3.
I am planning to remove one of the mirrored hard disk from DL380G4 and insert int into BL20PG3.
Anybody tried same or any similar experience.
Regards
Manoj

Re: DL380G4 and BL20PG3
It should work. I tried in other way: from BL20pG3 to DL580G3 (novell 6.5) - both use controller 6i, like dl380g4.

Andrzej

Re: DL380G4 and BL20PG3
Hi Manoj,
The DL380 G4 and BL20P G3 both SERVER having Embedded 6i-RAID Controller, so if it is possible to successes. But the DL380 G4 Server image has been generated by External 6404 Controller, it is not possible.
Same kind's of Experience we got it.
One of my Customer had bl20p g2 server, this Server having embedded 5i-controller.we are get the image from the DL360 G3 Server to BL20P G2 server it's working fine.
All the best
Thanks and Regards

Re: DL380G4 and BL20PG3
If you are using the embedded controller in each machine, then this should work fine. The only issues you may have will be because of different hardware architectures. This should be resolved by reinstalling the PSP over again.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
