In the event of hardware, software or power failure, Accelerators have a dual port NIC that fails through to wire. In that event, clients still have access to remote servers, albeit at the original slow performance

Re: dl380g4 not power off after linux shutdown

Dear Mugilvannan.
Sorry for my English.

Probably I'm not understand your answer and not anderstans about remote clients but:

I'm working locally on server.
I'm working alone.
Nobody connect to it when I working.

When I do "#shutdown -h now" the OS is down normally, but power supplies of server not power down automaticly - only manual, through press of power button.

The hardware of server not power off after OS is down. As I understant may be is some fix for OS or hardware tuning for it.

For windows 2003 is some fix for power system is working correct in the same case.

Can some body help me resolve it problem or take me way for it ?

BR,
Efim.

Re: dl380g4 not power off after linux shutdown

This is due to bugs in the 2.4.x kernel regarding ACPI. There are some patches available if you search for them.

This is not an HP problem but a Linux kernel problem. Here's a Google search that will give you some more information. I cannot recommend which approach to take for your specific issue.
