DL380G6: where is Inlet Ambient Temperature sensor?
during boot of the DL380G6, there is a report of a so-called Inlet Ambient Temperature (I think this during BIOS initialisation).
Can anyone point me to some document which indicates where this sensor is located exactly (or just tell me if you know)?
I could not find it mentioned in the User Guide nor the Maintenance Guide for the G6 servers.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Are you receiving an error?

Re: DL380G6: where is Inlet Ambient Temperature sensor?
I am not receiving a particular error - just wondering where to find this sensor which is prominently reported on boot, but I could not find it in the documentation.
Regards,
Michael

Re: DL380G6: where is Inlet Ambient Temperature sensor?
System Bios and ILO firmware are responsible for system health management at POST level.
and system management driver at OS level.
ILO firmware interacts with system bios and other components to get the information required.
Log in to ILO and Check ILO temperature threshold
Also check IML for any error messages.
System Bios and ILO firmware update has resolved the similar issue I had on one of the proliant servers.
Ambient Temperature sensor is integrated on the system board for Dl380 G6 server.
Hope this helps,
thanks,
Aftab
