Dl380p Gen8 8xLFF Backplane power connector details 643704-001
Hi everyone,
I have the 8xLFF SAS Backplane with part nr 643704-001, meant for a Proliant Dl380p Gen8, however I'm using it on a personal project where I'm trying to manage around 20 LFF drives from a single DL360p Gen8 1U server.
What I would like help is to know the pinout details of the power connector and voltage does it take.
Is that a normal EPS connector where its 12V all accross the top and ground in the bottom pins or is something different?
Thank you for the help,
Ralms.

Re: Dl380p Gen8 8xLFF Backplane power connector details 643704-001
The power connector on the HDD back plan is specific design voltage and it is 4 pin connector.
General pin voltage is with below link
https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab/comments/ba56lf/silencing_a_hp_dl380_gen8/
For more voltage detail on the HDD back plan power connector pls log a case with HPE.
Thank you

Hi there
maybe your question has been answered before, maybe not. In that case, this may help. Those pinouts are measured and confirmed... I made my own laboratory HDD enclosure with PC power supply for testing Smart Array controllers.

Re: Dl380p Gen8 8xLFF Backplane power connector details 643704-001
WOW, I'm confused... I have a dl380p G8 and behind the hard disk enclosure I have an 8-pin socket, but you refer to it as proliant DL380 g9... is it the same?
i need to connect a different power supply to a 4 HP 8x SFF HDD Drive Cage - ProLiant DL380p Gen8 - part no. 670943-001.
Can you help me?
Thanks

Re: Dl380p Gen8 8xLFF Backplane power connector details 643704-001
Dear Ravi Swamy,
The link you show leads to the power connector of the proliant, which has 10 pins. I am looking for the pin sequence for the dl380p backplane HPE - 643705-001 power supply which I am attaching a photo of, which has 8 pins. Unfortunately I no longer have the whole server at my disposal, otherwise I would have taken the measurements myself. Thanks for any help you can give me.
